C&R Research out of Chicago, IL, recently released a study that shows that 77% of moms feel that they are donig the best they can to get their families through the recession in the US. 56% of moms said their kids do not mind making due with less, and nearly 3 out of 4 mothers said that their family is staying home a lot more than they were a year ago.

When the mothers in the study were asked to identify companies that are helping moms manage through the economic crisis, mothers praised the efforts of Wal-Mart, McDonald’s, General Mills, Target, Kellogg’s, Denny’s and Kraft Foods.

Here are the Top 10:
- Walmart: 46.4%
- McDonald’s: 38.0%
- General Mills: 30.3%
- Target: 29.1%
- Kellogg’s: 28.2%
- Denny’s: 27.9%
- Kraft Foods: 26.8%
- Disney: 26.8%
- Old Navy: 21.7%
- Johnson: 20.3%

C&R Research offers integrated, full-service marketing research. The company is based out of Chicago, IL, USA.

I find it very interesting that McDonald’s is one of the few restaurant chains that has seen increase in sales. Maybe mothers and families are rewarding them for their efforts in making these trying times easier on their wallets.
