National Geographic Kids magazine and Subway Restaurants have partnered up to create The Subway Kids Taste for Adventure campaign. The international kids meal program includes a family adventure contest to celebrate exploration and the outdoors.
The promotion, which is supported by an integrated advertising campaign, will start today July 7th and will feature a variety of National Geographic Kids-branded toys (compass, endangered species expedition map, adventure journal, adventure hat, step tracker or adventure holder) which will be available in Subway Fresh Fit for Kids meals. In addition to the toys, kids can enter to win a trip to Alaska.
For a chance to win the trip, Kids are asked to share their greatest adventure ever (past, present or future dream adventure) in a personal essay of 100 words or less. The contest ends October 31, 2009 and is open to all legal residents of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico) ages 6-14.

Essay Entry:
I would like to take a helipcopter to the top of Mendenhall Glacier. I would like to possibly talk to some National Geographic scientists about what they do, why it appeals them, and what animals can survive there. I would also like to take a boat along the rivers and streams to watch the wildlife in the area. I’m only twelve but I already know that I want to be an animal scientist. Thanks to Subway this would be a great chance for me to see animals in their natural habitat.
That is awesome Bailey. Your comments have been forwarded to Subway - you never know!
Best of luck to you in the contest. There are still 3 weeks left!
