Zagat Survey released the findings on their fast-food surveys winners list. The winners were based on the responses of over 6,100 consumers who participated in said survey, which charted more than 100 chains in the USA. According to Zagat, the typical surveyor eats at a chain restaurant a whooping 11 times a month (that is almost every other day!).
Among fast-food chains, McDonald’s took first place for best French Fries, best breakfast sandwiches, best drive-thru, best value and MOST CHILD-FRIENDLY. I wonder if toys had anything to do with it…hmmm.
In the best burger catetory, In-N-Out Burger, a west coast chain took the win, followed by Wendy’s, Burger King and McDonald’s.
Starbucks continues to be the favorite among consumers followed by Dunkin’ Donuts, Peet’s Coffee & Tea, McDonald’s and Caribou Coffee.
Other fast-food winners include KFC for best fried chicken, Chick-fil-A for best grilled chicken, Long John Silver’s for best fish, Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops for best shakes and Panera Bread Co. for best salads.
Among the full-service chain winners, Outback Steakhouse took the prize for best steak, Olive Garden had the best pasta, IHOP offered the best breakfast, Red Lobster the best seafood and Chuck E. Cheese’s for most child-friendly.
Cheesecake Factory, Olive Garden and Cracker Barrel topped the list for best value honors in the full-service category.
