Some restaurant chains see value expanding out of the US

Brazil Fast Food and Yum! Brands reach mutual agreement to Franchise KFC brand in Brazil. Brazil Fast Food Corp. (BOBS), the owner and operator of the 534 location burger chain, and Yum! Restaurants International, a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc., which is the world’s largest restaurant company (34,000 restaurants), reached a mutual agreement to franchise KFC in Brazil.

Burger King Corporation announced today that its subsidiary, Burger King Europe GbmH, has signed a development agreement with Hana International Company Limited, a subsidiary of Olayan Financing Company, the Saudi and Middle Eastern arm of The Olayan Group. Hana will have the exclusive right to develop the BK brand in Egypt and other North African countries.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. secures agreement with Mubarak Al-Hassawi Restaurant Development group to open a minimum of 12 restaurants over the next several years in key Middle East cities including Dubai, Kuwait City and other Gulf countries.

Ruby Tuesday, Inc. announced plans for the development of 25 restaurants in Middle Eastern countries that include Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates. The restaurants will be developed and operated by the National Arabic Company for Restaurant Management of Kuwait (NAC) and will open over the next seven years.
