Get Real
- You Do Need A Kids Meal!
by Angel
Morales
Unless you have a sign outside your business door that
reads “we do NOT serve kids or families”, there is no
reason why you should avoid catering to young customers
today.
The growth of the population between the ages
of 0-13 has increased substantially. In the United
States, between the years 1995 and 2000 there was only
an increase of about 4% in this age group. However, the
increase between the years 2000 and 2005 almost reached
20%!!
If you are in the foodservice industry, and choose to
ignore this fact, you could potentially be missing out
on this 20% increase in sales. It is
simple – target this age group with effective
kids marketing techniques and family
marketing strategies and you are sure to get
a piece of the pie. Not so simple? If you need help, do
not hesitate to contact a kids marketing expert. Find
a partner (not just a supplier) that has the experience
to design, develop, manufacture and distribute kids meal
items. Find someone that understands and listens to your
needs and can effectively offer solutions.
It is not a matter of increasing sales and/or traffic.
It is a matter of effectively displaying your
brand and tying your kids meal program to it.
You do not necessarily have to go with the licensed toys
that jump, light up and/or scream, but your needs might
call for a small pack of crayons with an appealing coloring
book and/or placemat. Regardless of your needs, unless
you do NOT want families and kids to visit your locations,
you better act today.
Population of 0-13 year olds in the US:
- July 1995: 53.7 Million
- October 2000: 54.7 Million
- October 2005: 65.1 Million
